STRONG SPIRITS CARRY US FORWARD: Epiphany Couch
January 4th — 26th, 2025
Opening Saturday, January 4th, 5–8 PM
Hours: Sat–Sun, 12–5 PM & by appointment
ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
An installation dedicated to artist Epiphany Couch’s grandmother and great-grandfather, Strong Spirits Carry Us Forward is a tribute to the enduring legacy of generational knowledge. Through family photographs, delicate beadwork, and sculptural objects, Couch honors the complexities of heritage, identity, and family relationships. She creates a space where the anger and loss embedded in family lines can be transformed to promote healing and connection-building across generations.
This exhibition is generously supported by an Art3Cs Grant from the Regional Arts & Culture Council, as well as the Seattle Art Fair and Dreaming In Public.
Join Epiphany January 12th and/or 19th from 5-8 pm for Community Regalia Making Days, a welcoming space for Native community members to gather, bead, weave, or sew together in the inspiring atmosphere of the gallery. Bring your projects, share stories, and connect with others. All ages and skill levels are welcome! Some beading materials will be provided.
