Art Center East (ACE) announces the opening of “I Have Some Ideas”, a solo exhibition of a collection of paintings by Baker City artist Sarah E. Wynn. Community members of all ages are invited to attend a free opening reception on Friday, July 11, 2025, from 6–8 p.m. in ACE’s Main Gallery. The exhibit will be on display July 11 through Aug. 30. The date of an artist talk by Wynn will be announced soon.

“I Have Some Ideas” features oil paintings and hand-lettered signs inspired by Wynn’s personal world. She selects objects, landscapes, memories and words that she finds most pleasing to her eye, and presents these arrangements as moments worthy of adoration. Wynn says she is “focused on how these subjects have the potential to create a connection between creator and viewer”, and she hopes viewers are “inspired to consider the significant objects and moments in their own worlds.”

Included in the “I Have Some Ideas” exhibit is a series of hand-painted signs on paper. Using old techniques for producing signs and advertisements by hand, Wynn created six paintings that explore “what art would say if it could speak to us in plain English.” The signs are meant to be inspirational as well as functional, Wynn says.

Raffle tickets for an assortment of stickers and buttons illustrated by Wynn will be available for purchase in person at ACE and online at artcentereast.org beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 11. Proceeds from the raffle support the ACE Gallery Program. The winning raffle ticket will be drawn after Sept. 1.
