For the LAVC Art Gallery, Pável Acevedo will present several newly executed largescale
prints and works on paper. This solo exhibition explores and celebrates innate
human rebelliousness, autonomy, and self-determination, inspired by the oral
Zapotec stories and truths that were documented by Indigenous ancestors.
In addition to this suite of works, Acevedo will meet with Puente students over
several weeks to design and execute a wall mural within the gallery space. Student
will be led with prompts by the artist to explore their personal journeys and
celebrate their identities through image making and visual story telling.
