Emotions of Home
For years, Hyun Jung Jung melted the meanings of home into the objects she collected. Moving so often, the transience of these spaces with the uncertainty of how long she will live in each space, made the artist equip herself with the readiness to move to a different place whenever it was needed.
Unable to carry the physical house, Jung turned to her collected objects as vessels to capture the essence of home; the objects that now hold an array of memories, nostalgia, joy, sadness, excitement, longing, and more.
In Emotions of Home, Jung utilizes these artifacts as the material, transforming them into various sculptures and installations. Through this process, she hopes these works will forever exude the precious memories they’ve captured.
