This year, I had the opportunity to collaborate with master gaffers, printers, and studio technicians in glass, printmaking, and ceramics. Different materials inspired a new visual language, rich with historical craft references and my cultural narrative. New technical approaches satisfied my interest in process.—Iván Carmona
This body of work results from the 4 artists residences I attended in 2024: The University of Montana (Missoula, MT); The Pilchuck School of Glass, (Stanwood, WA); the Museum of Glass, (Tacoma, WA); and Crow’s Shadow Institute of the Arts, (Pendleton, OR).

Opened in 1996, PDX CONTEMPORARY ART continues to be one of the most forward-thinking commercial galleries in the West. Representing artists both local and international, owner Jane Beebe exhibits artwork that is both intellectually and visually satisfying. Our newest space is in a revitalized quonset hut and part of a Skylab project to develop a creative community on the edge of industrial northwest Portland.
