HER FORMATION, Exhibition Opening, February 21st, 2025
The latest exhibition at Artspace, HER FORMATION, exhibits the work of nine women artists whose enigmatic artworks offer visions of survival and even imaginative possibility in times of upheaval. The artists include Marjan Anvari, Kirsten Bauer, Francesca Capone, Sally Jablonsky, Emily Katz, Frankie Krupa-Vahdani, Zhang Mao, Heather Watkins and Amanda Wojick. Artspace is open Tuesday through Friday from 10am to 5pm, and outside of these hours during special events.
Each artist makes sense of the complexity of the world through artistic acts of alteration, abstraction, and material transformation. Their bold, often brightly saturated compositions respond to limitations through a wide variety of approaches, whether limitations of their embodied experience, cultural traditions, or autocratic systems of power. The artists’ works are uncompromising in their creative power, defiant, and even playful.

ACLO is a women-run arts nonprofit organization that works to ensure the arts are an integral part of life in our community now and into the future with the purpose of placement and preservation of public art in Lake Oswego. ACLO also provides access to art exhibitions through the Artspace, which is the only not for profit art gallery in Lake Oswego. ACLO hopes to advance lifelong learning about the arts through educational programs and docent tours.
