Dinosaur Illuminati Bloodbath (a low stakes deepfake)
Gagallery is excited to announce a show of screenprints by Adelaide Blair, Dinosaur Illuminati Bloodbath (a low-stakes deepfake). Blair uses collages of AI-generated and found images to explore the possibility of artificial intelligence image generators being used to create false evidence for conspiracy theories. How good must a deepfake be for people to believe it represents reality? How crappy can something be before it gets rejected as false? Can one explore these ideas through an imaginary epic battle between the dinosaurs and the Illuminati as portrayed by human/sea-creature hybrids?
Dinosaur Illuminati Bloodbath (a low-stakes deepfake) opens on Tuesday, Sept 3 with a reception on Friday, September 6th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The artist will be gallery sitting on Sunday, Sept 22nd and providing guided tours at 1:00 and 2:00. Other viewings by appointment. There will also be a closing reception during First Friday on October 4 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
Gagallery is located at 2035 SE Belmont St Suite G in Portland, OR.
