Cliff Notes
Each week, our regional Cliff Notes columnists Fox Whitney, Alitzah Oros, Melika Sebihi, and Kaya Noteboom pick the most exciting events and exhibitions on the West Coast.

Volunteer Park Conservatory
Seattle, WA
Ok, for my last Cliff Notes pick I’m gonna be a bit vulnerable and admit who my favorite artist in town is: nature.
Escape the gross and grey parts of city life and visit the magnificent indoor oasis that is Volunteer Park Conservatory. On select dates you can even get in for free! This stunner of a botanical sanctuary is located in the heart of my very own neighborhood, Capitol Hill. Whether you’re an artist that wants to sketch some wild looking plants, a general plant loving mommy or daddy wanting to see the babies grow, or just a curious visitor in the mood for a warm up amongst growing friends, this space is the place.
Check out their collection of exotic plants and flowers…a bonus is this is a place that welcomes people of all ages. Go solo, bring a date or the chosen fam and meditate on the artistic array of plant life from all over the world. Don’t miss a chance to explore one of Seattlel’s hidden gems during our winter blah moment. It’s a lovely way to remember that we are all a part of the natural world in its infinite variations. We can always appreciate and discover there are infinite ways to grow together, tend to each other and peacefully coexist like the mysterious and wild, wild natural world.
Reflection: How does the natural world influence your concept of beauty?
