Statement in support of the Palestinian liberation movement

Variable West is decisively committed to supporting the Palestinian liberation movement, as well as all liberation struggles that seek freedom from the interlocking violence of white supremacy, colonialism, and fascism.

We recognize our power as writers, academics, and editors and support the campaign for Boycott, Disinvestment, and Sanctions (BDS) against Israel and the Israeli settler colonial occupation of Palestinian land.

Variable West’s editorial platform will continually be a space for dissent against the silencing of Palestinian resistance in the art and academic worlds and beyond.

Much of what they discussed played out the following year, during the First Intifada, and this Blue Screen episodes mixes the talk with resistance music from this era.
