We are absolutely delighted to announce that we’ve received a Make|Learn|Build grant from the Regional Arts & Culture Council to help fund Justin Duyao’s position as Editorial Apprentice next spring!
Justin is absolutely essential to the work we do at Variable West. He manages all our event submissions, including uploading them on Instagram, and acts as Managing Editor of our Love Letters column. Plus, he’s very nice and funny and makes Amelia feel like all this hard work is worth it.
We’re extremely proud of how much he’s grown over the past year, and equally proud to pay him fairly for his work thanks to grants like this and support from subscribers and donations!
Justin Duyao is a creative writer and editor. He lives in Portland, Oregon, and is pursing an MA in Critical Studies from the Pacific Northwest College of Art. He holds degrees in English Literature, French and Religious Thought from Harding University, and his research interests include studies of consciousness, sociolinguistics, and semiology.
