This piece, created using charcoal, pastel and pencil on paper over birch panel, depicts a small mounted horsemen holding a flag, at the very bottom of the image, with a swamp-like sea spreading to his right and rocks, upon which prehistoric art is etched, to his left, and a path leading before him and upward toward a massive, ominous orb that dominates most of the work. Beyond it, grey clouds distort most of the background, except for an opening in the vault of the sky, into which a single beam extends out of the orb.
