Peter Halasz: Heartsong

Quint Gallery’s ONE is pleased to present a new painting by San Diego-based artist Peter Halasz. Halasz addresses highly evocative subjects such as night landscapes and atmospheric realms drawing from the diverse traditions of Romantic painting, 19th century French Realism, and the California Light and Space movement.

Heartsong, an ethereal starscape, is imbued with a soft, boundaryless mood that makes atmosphere its subject. Muted but spectacularly colored tones give way to fits of twinkling stars through a hazy night. Free from narrative, this painting is more closely resonant with a sonic arrangement or reverberation which exists in a space of nocturnal ambiguity.
