No Time to Rest! Film Series

November 11 - December 22

Free
A film still showing a collage of scenes. Two circles show one scene of a light skinned man reading The Berlitz Self-Teacher textbook "French." One circle floats slightly left of the center, while the other recedes into the lower right corner. The background is abstract shapes and colors, mostly green, grey, and black.

WHAT:

Film at SFMOMA joins forces with arts and nonprofit institutions across the U.S. working collectively as the Feminist Art Coalition, an initiative organized around feminist thought and practice. No Time to Rest! is a five-part program of films by women that foreground the possibilities of resistance and activism as it critiques power structures, reclaims historical narratives, seeks bodily autonomy and reframes the act of representation in direct confrontation with patriarchal, racist and capitalist legacies. Available online at sfmoma.org and co-curated by Rudolf Frieling, SFMOMA curator of media arts, and Gina Basso, SFMOMA manager of film, the program features Eve Fowler, Jeanne C. Finley, Kelly Gallagher, Ja’Tovia Gary and Lynn Hershman Leeson.
